THE CREST

crest (krest/) n. 1. the top of a mountain or hill. “After climbing all morning, she reached the crest of the hill.”

The restaurant at VITALIA Montrose. Named for the crest of the hill where wild roses grew, giving the town of Montrose its name, as well as for its location within Summit County. Created on March 3, 1840, the county was named for Portage Summit, the highest point along the Ohio and Erie Canal. And as a wise man once sang, “there were roses on the hill, but I never saw them blooming, no, I never saw them at all, until I found The Crest”* (*the lyrics may have been altered slightly, but your order will always be true).

Our culinary team, led by Executive Chef Christine Archey, is dedicated to creating healthy, delicious meals from scratch each and every day. We source our ingredients thoughtfully, and prepare our dishes resourcefully.

“You dine on your own schedule. The dining room is open from 7 AM to 7 PM every day- and there is a 24/7 refrigerated deli-style case full of to-go meals and snacks if you get the munchies at 2 am. Want breakfast at 5pm – you got it! Do you love housemade (DELICIOUS) crab cakes for lunch AND dinner? They’re one of the specials of the week (this week) . The food is comparable to any of your favorite restaurants, and there’s something for everyone. If you don’t see what you want on the (extensive) menu, the chefs can probably even whip it up for you. Do you like Starbucks? Well, there’s even a Starbucks coffee machine, and you can get a number of beverages complete with a Starbucks cup.”
